Ultimate Reset – Week 3

That’s a wrap folks!!

21 days and 10.4 pounds down!

I did this for a few reasons:

  1. To feel good.  I remember the first time I did this program I felt so good at the end; physically and mentally.  I needed to fell that again.
  2. My husband and I are going to Punta Cana in about a month for a trip that Beachbody is paying for.  I wanted to feel good on the beach.  😉
  3. May is our 10 year wedding anniversary.  I want to feel good in my body and feel good about the way my clothes fit.
  4. I needed to feel in control of myself.  Food and drinks can be a slippery slope for me.  I needed to hit this head on before the summer.

I’m proud to say I feel like I have accomplished all of these!

Blame it on the last week and eggs being so within reach.  Blame it on the buisiness of this time of year with vacations and sports.  But this last week was hard. I found a saving grace in guacamole and in knowing my mind was clear and sharp.  Sometimes when things get hard we have to find one thing we can own.  Mine was guacamole and how clear headed I became.  I owned that and didn’t want to lose it.

I have done the Reset to two extremes.  One was during the heart of summer.  We went on vacations, went to the beach, celebrated 4th of July and my daughter’s birthday.  We were on the go constantly.  The other, this time, was much less nomadic.  both have their perks and both have their difficulties.  

Even though the first time I did this we were on vacation the entire time, I think I’m more proud of this round.  When you’re on vacation and surrounded by people you have some build in accountability there.  This time I was working from home and no eyes were holding me accountable besides my own.  That’s a lot to carry, on top of running a business, being a mom, wife, business partner, etc.  The ownership I have with Round 2 is hard to describe.

In the end, I lost over 10 pounds, nearly as many inches and gained a huge self worth in myself, a control over food and alcohol.  This isn’t a one stop quick fix.  This is meant to give you a head start into a new life and I’m taking it to be just that.

One Year Down!

It’s been a year since I gave up really good for great.

I still remember the emotions that came with the decision and I hope I always will.  The long nights and early mornings.  The constant hustle.  Being so proud that we did it!  That we actually made this happen.  The ‘Oh crap, what am I doing’ thoughts.  The lump in my throat.  The sweaty palms and crazy heart beat all day.  Walking to the parking lot knowing this was it.

This past year hasn’t been easy.  Business goals were missed and figuring out a new schedule was hard.  But, AHHHHMAZING things have happened in between.

Like picking up my kids from school.
Getting homework done early and being able to sit down with them and really help them.  Not the let’s do homework while I cook supper and before we have a soccer game help.
Coached all of Emme’s teams.
Went to Jamaica and the Bahamas with Ben.
Stood in front of 25,000 while our team was recognized in Nashville.
Took vacations on a whim.  Like in the middle of the week, whim!!
Merged teams with one of my most amazing girlfriends and business partners, Lindsay.
Helped coaches on our team rank advance, step outside their comfort zones and grow as people.
Went swimming with the kids on a Wednesday.
Made it to my first Field Trip.
Helped people get off blood pressure and cholesterol medication.
Had lunch with friends.
Took care of my nephew when he was sick.
Had friends who were told they couldn’t get pregnant, get pregnant because they became healthy!!
Sat on the back porch more often with Ben.
Went on Pokemon hunts with the kids.
Donated to more causes.  Both financially and with my time.
Travelled more.
Laughed more.
Loved more.
Saw the good in situations that used to stress me out.
Helped others learn how to cook healthier.
Painted the hallway.
Painted trim. And more trim.  And more trim.
Cleaned out flowerbeds.
Went on bike rides.
Maxed out my Roth.
Enjoyed Christmas.
Was a more present wife and mom.

The decision wasn’t easy.  The big ones.  The life changing ones, never are.  But I’m so glad I said yes.

Thank you all for your support, for trusting me with your health, your goals, your dreams and your fears.  It’s something I do not take lightly and look forward to doing for many many years to come.  #oneyeardown

What the Heck is a Challenge Group?

The first Beachbody program I ever finished was because of a challenge group.

I had tried completing programs on my own and usually did really well the first 7-10 days.  But then I would fall off the wagon and give up until my pants no longer fit and would try it again.  This continued for a loooonnngggg time until I found a challenge group.

I purchased the 21 Day Fix Challenge Pack and my Beachbody coach (even coaches have coaches!) reached out to me about a new challenge group she was starting.  It changed my mindset and helped me to finish the program strong.  I lost over 10 pounds, just as many inches and felt amazing.  Ever since I have never participated in a program without also participating in a challenge group.

Over time I have evolved my challenge groups.  Changing the needs and wants of my challengers (people who purchase programs from me) to better fit the group and offer an even higher success rate.

A challenge group begins on Facebook.  It’s simply the easiest and most utilized technology we currently have to group people together and post documents, meal plans, recipes, pictures, videos, etc.  And it’s PRIVATE.  The only people who see what is posted in the group are the people in the group.  Your sweaty workout selfies are safe.  Your holiday splurge confessions are safe.  Your celebrations are safe.  Your victories are safe.  They all stay within the group.

Within the challenge group you will receive meal plans, recipes, shopping lists, motivation, accountability and inspiration.  Within this, my goal, is for you to gain confidence in yourself.  To celebrate your victories and pick yourself up when you fail.  Every one of us fails.  Failing is not a big deal.  Before I was in a challenge group failing would lead to more failure.  I never knew how to pick myself up and continue on.  One small splurge would turn into a day, then a week, then I just rolled down a slippery slope.  BUT, in a challenge group, those slip-ups become small and insignificant.   You learn how to deal with these and create a lifestyle that will lead to healthy habits.  And in the end, these slip-ups become more and more rare.

My challengers always find the most motivation and success in challenge groups.  When they actively participate by posting their meals, their workouts and their successes, amazing testimonials are established.  But what I have to remind them with, is their posts motivate me as well.  A challenge group is a two way street.  I am in the trenches with you.  I’m eating clean and working out.  I’m drinking my Shakeology every day.  I’m passing on queso.  (Queso is a big deal with me.)  You do not go at it alone.

Every month I start a new challenge group.  All different programs, but all with the same goal in mind.  To help YOU finish strong.

Starting October 5th I will have one challenge group that will be a hybrid of 2 programs, 21 Day Fix Extreme and Body Beast.  This group will help you build muscle and get you shredded.  It will be intense, but the work you put into this program will show itself through your results.  The hybrid schedule was created by top performers in our company and is perfect for adding strong, lean muscle and curves.  Women will tone and men will bulk.

Also on October 5th I will start a PiYO challenge group.  This program is low-impact, no jumping or hopping, but will create lean muscle.  No weights are involved.  Just you, using your body.  This is a great program for new moms, runners and those that need flexibility.
